“The chaos in Mumbai, India is half a world away, but that hasn’t stopped the violence from touching the world of gaming. Among the casualties is Michael Rudder, a Canadian voice actor with credits in games, movies and cartoons.

CBC News is reporting that Rudder, whose credits include Splinter Cell, Jagged Alliance 2 and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, was having dinner when his hotel came under attack. Rudder was hit by three bullets.

According to Synchronicity Foundation vice president Bobbie Garvey, “Rudder was taken to the hospital. He did have surgery [that was] very successful. He was in intensive care for a little while, but he is very stable and he is healing at the moment.”

Rudder was in India with two dozen other people as part of a Synchonicity spiritual retreat. Best wishes to him and his family on a speedy recovery.”

Keep in mind tho they are using the normal word play tricks. This isn’t the full verison, but instead the Open Beta which is normally like the full verison in terms of MMOs which this sorta is. So get excited but don’t cry like a wimp when you pop in and only half the features are there. You’ve been warned.

“With the continued domination of both the Wii and the Nintendo DS in pure sales numbers, Nintendo has more reason than anyone to give thanks this holiday season, but they won’t be spending the day after Thanksgiving lazing around in a turkey coma. Instead, the console manufacturer has announced that they will be releasing two special limited edition Nintendo DS bundles to coincide with Black Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
The Mario Red bundle looks similar in color to the Crimson DS but features an iconic ‘M’ painted onto the front. It also comes with a copy of New Super Mario Bros.. Meanwhile the Ice Blue version of the handheld has a packed-in copy of Brain Age and a custom carrying case. Despite that bundle getting a teensy bit more stuff, both will retail for the price of $149.99. Check out images of the bundles above.

In their press release for the announcement, Nintendo stressed that they believe the new bundles will be big sellers for “first-time gamers and veteran players alike.” With any other company, we’d say it sounds like wishful thinking, but nothing seems to be able to stop the juggernaut of constant sales that the DS has become. Enjoy your new Black Friday colors, consumers.”

In doing some research i found out that both of these packages are on sale at amazon right now for 134.99, which includes free shipping and no tax. This is $15.00+ off MSRP.

“A brief post on Bungie.net announces a change of title for the stand-alone Halo 3 expansion Halo 3: Recon. Henceforth it shall be known as Halo 3: ODST. Not exactly an earth shattering adjustment, but one Bungie says, “is a more straightforward account of the experience that awaits and the role you will assume as you explore the streets of New Mombasa.” In the Halo world, ODST stands for “Orbital Drop Shock Trooper.” They’ve been seen before in Halo 2 and 3, as well as showing up in some of the Halo novels. In the game you’ll be dropping in well behind enemy lines to make your way around New Mombasa.

Other than the new name, everything else stays exactly as originally announced at TGS: it will release next fall, include new Halo 3 multiplayer content, still have the coveted recon armor in it, and have “one or two unrevealed surprises” (shock).

The post also reconfirmed that the next DLC maps for Halo 3, the “Mythic Map Pack”, will hit sometime early next year. That’s the six map pack comprised of the three planned to ship with the Limited Edition of Halo Wars — Assembly, Sandbox, and Orbital — along with three others — Citadel, Heretic, and Longshore. “

We’ve introduced our very own PlayStation credit card to offer fans a new way to show off their PlayStation pride and earn reward points towards the purchase of PlayStation and SONY products.
We’ve even sweetened the pot with a special introductory offer. Starting today until December 31, 2008, you could save $150 on the purchase of a PLAYSTATION 3 this holiday. There are a couple ways to do this. You can go to to www.sony.com/newpscard to get instant approval for your card, and an immediate $150 credit when you purchase a PS3 directly through the website.
Or you can go www.sony.com/getpscard to apply for the card and upon receipt of the card, use it at any authorized PlayStation retailer to purchase a PS3. The $150 credit will show up on your billing statement.
